Waterways Therapy – a counsellor on the water!

Meet Verna, a passionate counsellor who doesn’t just talk about wellness — she lives it.

Working from her beautiful boat surrounded by nature, her online practice Waterways Therapy offers a tranquil escape for those seeking guidance. However, despite her expertise in helping others navigate their emotional waters, Verna was challenged with an important aspect of her own business: creating an inviting online presence. That’s where we stepped in.

Really pleased with the work Nick has done to get my website up and running. Would highly recommend.

Building a Brand with Soul

The process began with a simple yet essential task — branding. We wanted to encapsulate Verna’s unique lifestyle and approach to counselling in her logo and colour scheme. Together, we brainstormed ideas that reflected the calmness of the water and the lushness of nature, ultimately settling on soothing greens and blues.

The logo evolved into a serene design that perfectly matched her aims, representing a safe haven for her clients. We provided a simple guidelines PDF with the logos, showing the brand colours and font. This helps keep business cards, embroidered clothing etc consistent.

An Easy-to-Use Website

Once the branding was in place, it was time to tackle the website. We created a WordPress site that was not only visually appealing but also user-friendly. Understanding that Verna wanted to maintain the site independently, we chose a clean layout that’s easy to edit. No complicated page builders or confusing themes!

We guided her in organising her content to highlight her unique therapy methods, testimonials from satisfied clients, and the magical setting of her practice. Whether someone was looking to book a session or simply learn more, the new site made it simple and inviting.

Domain Name

Finding the right domain name can be a daunting task so we explained what a domain is, where they are rented from and how to choose the right domain name type. We also handled the technical side of things — redirecting her domain name to ensure a seamless online experience right from the start.

Stress-Free Launch

Preparing to launch her new website made for some exciting conversations. Verna expressed both excitement and some nerves — she had put her heart and soul into this venture, and her website was an extension of that. We polished the final details and ensured everything was functioning smoothly, on both computers and mobile devices.

When we finally revealed the completed site to her, the look on Verna’s face was priceless. She couldn’t wait to unveil it to the world, and that made our hard work worthwhile. Knowing I had taken the stress out of the website-building process for her put a smile on my face too!

A Complete Package

What makes our counsellor web design package distinct is the comprehensive support we provide. From branding and web design to domain management and content formatting, we strive to be the stress-free solution for professionals like Verna. By taking care of the techy stuff, we allow our clients to focus on their passions — whether it’s offering counselling on a boat surrounded by nature or running a counselling charity.

Conclusion

Verna’s story is an inspiring reminder of how a strong online presence can enhance not just a business but the entire client experience. With her new website, she’s ready to share her passion for counselling wrapped in the charm of her floating home.

It’s not just about building websites; it’s about helping people thrive in their element. For Verna, that’s on the water, embraced by nature’s tranquillity. And I’m thrilled to have been a part of her journey.

How the waterways can improve mental health & wellbeing.

Waterways are a game changer for our well-being. They offer a space to unwind, get active, and connect with others, which is especially important if we have a stressful life. Whether it’s going for a walk, paddleboarding, or just chilling by the water, these spots help reduce stress and lift our spirits.

Take the Nottingham Waterways and Wellbeing project, for instance; it highlights how spending time near water can make a real difference in our mental health. Simply put, being around waterways can lead to happier, healthier lives.
